Patterns that come up from nature, and their inherent beauty, have always been of my concerning. These structures are not only fascinating from an aesthetic point of view, but also because they specifically occur as a result of biological, chemical and physical processes. These might be the main reasons I pursued an undergraduate degree on Physics and a master’s degree on Applied Mathematics in the School of Sciences, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Upon following this path, I found myself applying to a PhD position in the United Kingdom at the Department of Engineering Mathematics of the University of Bristol. After nearly four years, I graduated with the highest honours in the British system, and came back to Mexico as a postdoc fellow in the Centre of Applied Physics and Avanced Technology, UNAM Campus Juriquilla. A year after, I got a researcher position in the Centre of Mathematical Sciences, UNAM Campus Morelia, where I spearheaded the biomathematics research area. Since August 2017, I have joined in the Academic Department of Mathematics, ITAM, as Assistant Professor.
My research interests lie on topics related to Applied Dynamical Systems, Reaction-Diffusion Systems, Spatio-Temporal Chaos and Applications to Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering.
