Pablo Kalmanovitz González is a professor and senior researcher at the Academic Department of International Studies at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He has been General Editor of the Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law since 2021. He was Director of the International Studies Division at CIDE, as well as Associate Professor of Political Science at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University and at the European University Institute. He also was a visiting professor at McGill University in Montreal and the University of Ulster in Belfast.
His research agenda focuses on normative aspects of organized violence, particularly the international regulation of armed force, on which he has published numerous specialized articles and chapters. His book "The Laws of War in International Thought” was published by Oxford University Press in 2020.
He has a Ph.D. from Columbia University, an M.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia.
