At long last, thanks to generous support from Microsoft, the Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Derecho y Economía (ALACDE) has taken a bold step forward with its recent decision to commit to the creation of a Latin American and Caribbean equivalent of the American Law Institute (ALI). the Instituto Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Derecho y Economía. This major step is taken through the formation of an alliance with the law school of the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
Otherwise, an enormous pool of talent and experience that could benefit the economy and society would be lost by the failure to promote inter-university cooperation between law faculties in the Latin America-Caribbean area.
